Budget 2022 Will Be 14 Percent Bigger Than Last Time: Reports

New Delhi: The budget session is starting today, the government is all set to emphasize expenditure as this time it is expected that the budget will be bigger in size as compared to previous years.

According to some media reports, this year the general budget will be about 14 percent bigger than the 2001 budget.

The reports further claimed that the entire emphasis of the Finance Minister will be on accelerating the economy by increasing spending and following this the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman can increase the size of the budget by 14 percent from the last time without thinking much about the fiscal deficit.

Reportedly, in a survey conducted among economists, it has been revealed that the budget 2021-22 size can be Rs 39.6 lakh crore. For the current financial year, the government had presented a budget of Rs 34.83 lakh crore.

However, economists also believe that the government will use the increased budget to strengthen infrastructure and increase employment. Meanwhile, there is little hope that it would give any relief on tax rates.

Notably, common people shouldn't expect much from the budget.

According to reports, in a bid to provide funds to big schemes related to the infra sector, it is expected that the government will depend largely on debt.

In the budget 2022, the Finance Minister is expected to give more emphasis on raising funds by selling government assets through disinvestment.
